What is THCa?

THCa (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is a natural compound found in raw hemp and cannabis plants. On its own, THCa is non-psychoactive, meaning it won’t get you high when consumed in its raw form.

However, when heated—like when smoked, vaped, or baked—THCa converts into Delta-9 THC, the well-known compound responsible for the traditional cannabis "high." This process is called decarboxylation.

That means THCa products offer consumers a legal way to purchase hemp flower that can deliver effects similar to traditional cannabis, while remaining compliant with federal hemp laws (as long as they contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC before heating).
